Lee Soo-man, the founder and chief producer of K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment, will participate in a conference in Stanford University titled “North Korea, K-pop, and the Korea Program at Stanford” hosted between May 19 and 20.
 
According to SM Entertainment, the two-day event will take place at Stanford’s Bechtel Conference Center. The conference is being hosted to mark the 20-year anniversary of the establishment of the Korea Program at the university, with aims to bring about panel discussions with scholars and experts in Korean studies which includes the rising global popularity of Korean cultural content. 
 
Lee will give a speech about the future vision and prospects of K-pop. Lee previously gave a lecture at the university back in 2011 on business strategies for hallyu.
 
K-pop idol Suho from boy band EXO will also participate in the panel discussion to share his experiences in the industry.
 
The conference is free to the public and will also be livestreamed.
