Singer Soyou returned to the K-pop scene with her new EP "Day&Night" on Wednesday.

"Day&Night" is comprised of five tracks with two lead tracks titled "Business" and "Some 2."

During the online press conference on Wednesday, Soyou described "Business" as a song that would show a different side of her while "Some 2" is an extension of her previous hit "Some" from 2014.

"Some 2" features K-pop singer Jung Yong-hwa.

"When I first listened to 'Some 2,' Jung came to my head, so I asked him if he would do the song with me," said Soyou. "Thanks to him, the song became even sweeter."

The EP also features singer-songwriters Davii, Jukjae and Be’O.

"People may think that there are too many featuring artists on this EP, but I think that is to my advantage," said Soyou. "I have collaborated with 42 artists so far. I thought about singing alone, but decided to do it with other artists because that's what people like."

"Day&Night" comes after her single "Good Night MY LOVE," which was released last year. It’s also her first release with her new agency BPM Entertainment.

Soyou debuted as a member of the now-disbanded girl group Sistar in 2010. After the group disbanded in 2017, Soyou continued to be active in the music industry as a solo artist, releasing hit songs such as “The Night” (2017), “All Night” (2018) and “Gotta Go” (2020). She also participated on soundtracks of popular television series such as “She was Pretty” (2015) on MBC, “Love in the Moonlight” (2016) on KBS and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (2016-17) and “Mr. Queen” (2020-21) on tvN.
