'Sweet but thrilling'

Girl group bugAboo performs its new lead track “POP” during a showcase Monday held at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, western Seoul. The group of six — Eunchae, Yoona, Rainie, Cyan, Choyeon and Zin — will drop its second EP with the same title the same day. “POP,” a “sweet but thrilling number like pop rocks” as Zin put it, is bugAboo’s first music in seven months since the group debuted in October 2021. The energetic track also comes with a vigorous dance performance.

“Our debut song ‘bugAboo’ was about discovering our fears and traumas inside, but we’re not just fearful this time,” said the group’s leader Choyeon. “We are enjoying the process of dispelling our fears, like we’re at a festival.”

“The music video shows each member chasing away their fears in their own ways,” said Cyan. “For example, Eunchae chases away an evil spirit with the flashlight of her phone, and I appear with a gun. We want to once again convey a message of hope that we can all do it.” [JG STAR, A TEAM]
