New Covid-19 cases fall below 70,000

Korea reported 68,632 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, nearly double the count from four weeks earlier. Although the number of confirmed cases has fallen back below the 70,000 mark, the recent spike appears to be continuing.
 
The number of Covid-19 patients in a severe condition jumped to 130, while there were 31 deaths, the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19 in 55 days.
 
The average daily number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 for the past week was 56,805.
