Burger King is raising prices again as the cost of eating out continues to soar.

Burger King announced Wednesday that it will raise the price of 46 of its products by 4.5 percent on average starting Friday. This latest increase comes about six months after the company last raised the prices of 33 products by an average of 2.9 percent.

The price of the Whopper, Burger King’s signature item, will be raised from 6,400 won ($4.87) to 6,900 won; the Long Chicken Burger from 4,400 won to 4,600 won; and the Whopper Junior from 4,400 won to 4,600 won.

In the case of the Whopper, the price was raised from 6,100 won to 6,400 won in January's hike. With the increase of an additional 500 won this time around, that's a total increase of 800 won in just six months.

“We inevitably raised the price due to the increase in logistic prices and raw material costs,” said an official from Burger King.

Burger King is not the only burger franchise to raise its prices in recent months. Lotteria also raised the prices of more than 60 of its products by an average of 4.1 percent in December last year, followed by an average increase of 5.5 percent of 81 products in June. KFC also raised the price of some of its products including the Zinger Burger by 100 to 200 won in January, and hiked prices up by 200 to 400 won again on July 12.
