Merck Award and Merck Young Scientists Award announced

Merck Korea announced the winners of this year’s Merck Award and Merck Young Scientists Award during the International Meeting of Information Displays (IMID) 2022.
 
The Merck Award, established in 2004 on the 100th anniversary of Merck’s research on liquid crystal, was expanded to the Merck Young Scientist Award in 2006. This year’s winner of the Merck Award was Noh Yong-young, professor of chemical engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (Postech), who has conducted significant research into the development of semiconductor materials for OLED displays.
 
The winner of the Merck Young Scientist Award was Kang Suk-ju, professor of electric engineering at Sogang University. Kang is an expert in the fields of display image and video signal processing and artificial intelligence.
 
The IMID 2022 event is being held at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center in Busan from Tuesday to Thursday.
