Weki Meki's Yoojung to release 'Sunflower' on Sept. 14
Yoojung of girl group Weki Meki is making her solo debut with the single “Sunflower” on Sept. 14, Fantagio said Friday.
The agency posted a teaser image on the group’s social media channels, showing Yoojung running in a garden with long orange hair.
Yoojung, whose given name is Choi Yoo-jung, debuted as a member of I.O.I in 2016 after finishing in third place on the K-pop survival show “Produce 101” (2016). The group released hits “Dream Girls” (2016), “Whatta Man (Good Man)” (2016) and “Very Very Very” (2016) and then disbanded a year later.
Yoojung then became a member of Weki Meki, which debuted in 2017. The group has eight members — Suyeon, Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Sei, Lua, Rina and Lucy — and debuted with the song “I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend.”
