Amphibious assault vehicles deployed in Pohang
The Korean Marine Corps dispatched armored vehicles to rescue people trapped in flooded area of Nam District in Pohang, North Gyeongsang on Tuesday.
A total of two Korean Amphibious Assault Vehicles and three small inflatable boats were sent to the area with lifeguards onboard, according to the marine corps.
“We are ready to immediately help and rescue when in need,” the marine corps said.
A total of eight people were reported missing and one dead as of press time in Pohang due to flooding caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor Tuesday.
