Jin, a member of K-pop boy band BTS, will release his new solo single "The Astronaut" on Oct. 28.

A logo trailer and a promotion schedule for the singer's upcoming song were unveiled through BTS's official social media accounts on Wednesday.

The song is "meant to be a gift for the fans," Jin's agency BigHit Music said through the fan community Weverse.

According to the promotion schedule, Jin will release a poster for the song on Thursday and concept photos from Oct. 24 to 26. Music video teaser clips will be unveiled on Oct. 27.

The song was rumored to be gifted by Coldplay, but the agency has not confirmed this, saying "the specific timeline and details on the collaboration will be revealed later," on Tuesday.

This song will make Jin the second BTS member to debut as an individual artist, following J-Hope.

J-Hope dropped his first solo album "Jack in the Box" in July, becoming the first member from the group to go solo.

"The Astronaut" will likely be the last song from Jin before he enlists for his mandatory military service.

On Monday, the company disclosed that Jin would no longer seek a deferment from mandatory military service. The disclosure added that the other six members of the group will also enter the army later.

All able-bodied men in Korea are required to serve the country for a period of 18 to 21 months.
