Kim Yeong-su wins season-ending LG Signature Players Championship

Kim Yeong-su won the last KPGA tournament of the season, the LG Signature Players Championship, coming back from behind to beat Han Seung-su after a close playoff on Sunday at Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi.
After Kim and Han carded 24-under-par, both players had to play three additional playoff holes on Sunday. At the last playoff hole, Han made a crucial mistake with his tee shot, hitting the ball out of the fairway. Although he tried to hit it back on the green, the ball landed short and went straight into the bunker.
Despite the ball half sunk in the sand, Han made an incredible save from the bunker, hitting the pole with the ball.
But that still wasn’t enough to outplay Kim. Kim’s tee shot landed on the fairway, and he not only found the green with his second shot, but landed close to the hole.
Sinking the ball with just one putt, Kim birdied the hole while Han bogied.
With the LG Signature Players Championship trophy, Kim won 260 million won ($200,000) and finishes the season at the top of the Genesis Points Standings, earning him a KPGA Tour card for the next five years and a seat at the Genesis Scottish Open next season.
The last two months have been the best of Kim's 14-year career.
Kim won his first-ever KPGA title at the Genesis Championship in October. He went on to tie for third at his next tournament, the Golfzon-Toray Open, then just a week later, he added his second title ever on Sunday.
The 2022 KPGA Tour came to a close with the end of the LG Signature Players Championship.
