Hyundai Glovis named Lee Kyoo-bok, 54, as the new CEO.

Lee will replace Kim Jung-hoon, and the new appointment will be effective Dec. 1. Kim will change his position to an advisor.

“Lee has a great understanding of all business areas of the company and the industry, as well as capabilities to accelerate Hyundai Glovis’ new businesses to make it a leading global logistics company,” the company said in a statement.

As a veteran strategic planner, Lee spearheaded the United States and European sales for Hyundai Motor. Since Feb. 2020, he has been a senior vice president of the process innovation sub-division at Hyundai Motor.

Hyundai Motor also promoted Luc Donckerwolke, its current chief creative officer (CCO), to the president.

The 57-year-old automotive designer first joined Hyundai Motor in 2016.

He was appointed as the CCO in 2020, and has been overseeing design for Hyundai Motor, Kia and Genesis cars.

Donckerwolke will maintain his position as CCO to lead strengthening brand identities, Hyundai said.

Kong Young-woon and Chi Young-cho, two presidents at Hyundai Motor, will step down from their positions and be advisors to the company.

On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor announced that it will establish a new department, called Global Strategy Office, which will focus on planning strategies for future mobility.

Specific details and personnel appointments of the new department will be announced in December.
