Suga of BTS is expected to do his military service as a social service agent instead of as a soldier, according to local reports Tuesday.

The Asia Business Daily on Tuesday cited military sources saying Suga has earned approval to serve as a social service agent. Suga has postponed his enlistment until next year but will most likely be the next to enlist after Jin.

Men with or who have sustained certain health issues are subject to exemption from direct service and can fulfill their mandatory service duties by serving as social service agents, normally working at community centers and other organizations within cities or provinces.

After news surfaced of Suga’s enlistment, fans reasoned online in comments that he would have been able to enlist as a social service agent instead of a soldier because of previous injuries that he had sustained during performances and for having received surgery.

Neither BigHit Music nor HYBE confirmed whether Suga would enlist as a social service agent in a phone interview with the Korea JoongAng Daily Tuesday.

Jin is to arrive at the army boot camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi, before 2 p.m. Tuesday.
