It’s crunchy, it’s filling and it’s got a reputation for being relatively healthy. It’s granola and it’s all the rage in Korea, especially supplemented with nuts and fruits to help create a balanced meal.

The domestic market for granola has grown to roughly 78 billion won ($60.5 million), up about 21 percent on-year. Post Granola of Dong Suh Foods dominates the market with a 55 percent share. Dong Suh Foods has been steadily unveiling advanced products that reflect the fast-changing food trends and interests of consumers.

Dong Suh Foods released Post Whole Barley Granola last November, presenting a balanced taste including flakes with barley, granola with domestic whole-grain and cranberry and mango flavors.

After launching Korea’s very first granola-derived cereal, Dong Suh Foods is expanding its range, presenting a variety of tastes in both the Post Granola and Post Golden Granola ranges.

Post Granola contains cornflakes mixed with granola and baked with whole grains and dried fruit. It is rich in vitamin and calcium as well as carbohydrate and it comes in various flavors including cranberry almond, blueberry and cacao walnut.

Post Granola Cranberry Almond is made of 30 percent whole grain granola with almonds and cranberries added to make a nutty and savory flavor.

Post Granola Blueberry contains blueberries, known as one of the world’s top ten macrobiotic foods.

Post Granola Cacao Walnut is based on baked cornflakes with added cacao which is high in antioxidation properties and walnuts contain unsaturated fatty acids. For consumers who like nuts, this cereal gives the best of both worlds.

Post Brown Rice Granola, released in 2020, is gaining a lot of popularity. It is a healthy cereal with flakes containing 70 percent brown rice and golden granola that is baked crispy with whole grains.

Post Golden Granola is a premium granola line that was introduced in 2016, in line with the growth in the granola market.

“The Post Granola series are loved by consumers that go well with taste, nutrition and convenience,” a marketing manager at Dong Suh Foods said. “Dong Suh Foods will continue to provide a range of granola and cereal options to make the best meal for customers.”
