Samsung Display will introduce a screen that can be extended from both ends at the four-day CES 2023, which begins Thursday in Las Vegas.

Named "Flex Hybrid," the screen is “a combination of foldable and slidable technologies,” according to Samsung Display.

The Flex Hybrid screen can be extended to both the left and the right. The left side of the screen is foldable, while the right side can be extended horizontally like a scroll.

A prototype of slidable PC display panels, which was introduced at Intel's Innovation 2022 conference in September, will also make an appearance at CES 2023. The slidable screen is capable of transforming from a tablet-like 13 inch into a laptop monitor of 17 inches.

Samsung Display will also show a bendable automotive screen for a digital cockpit for the first time. The digital cockpit will consist of a 37-inch panel and a 15.6-inch panel.

LG Display also said Tuesday that it will introduce organic light-emitting diode (OLED) foldable screens for mobile phones and laptops at the CES.

LG Display’s 8-inch foldable OLED screen can be folded both inward and outward. It can be folded and unfolded more than 200,000 times, according to the company.

A 17-inch foldable OLED screen for laptops and tablets will be at LG Display’s booth at the tech show too.

The company is setting up a section dedicated to automotive displays for the first time.

One of the major lines is plastic OLED panels, which use elastic plastics instead of glass that offer high-quality graphics and can easily bend.

Meanwhile, electronics makers plan to show their latest TVs and gaming monitors at CES 2023.

Samsung Electronics will introduce its latest monitors, including an ultra-high-definition (UHD) gaming monitor called Odyssey Neo G9 and the OLED-powered gaming monitor Odyssey OLED G9

The Odyssey Neo G9 monitor supports DisplayPort 2.1 standard, or DP 2.1, the first in the world for a monitor.

The DP 2.1 standard enables twice the data transmission speed of DP1.4, according to Samsung Electronics.

LG Electronics will show its latest addition to the OLED evo TV lineup, which will be up to 70 percent brighter than previous OLED TVs.
