Haechan, of two NCT subunits, takes a break for health reasons

Haechan of boy band NCT will take a temporary break due to health issues, SM Entertainment said Friday.

"Haechan has been experiencing deteriorating health conditions and recently visited the hospital after experiencing breathing problems, where he was recommended by the doctor to take a rest," the company said in a post uploaded on the Kwangya Club fan community service.

"As it is most important that Haechan recovers his best condition, he will be taking time off from the coming week."

The company asked for fans' understanding and apologized for worrying them, adding that an announcement on when he will be back will be made later.

Haechan is a member of two subunits of NCT: NCT 127 and NCT Dream. NCT Dream recently dropped its special EP "Candy" on Dec. 16 and NCT 127 is set to drop a repackaged version of its fourth full-length album "Ay-Yo" on Jan. 30.
