Girl group Dreamcatcher will release a special single written for fans to celebrate its sixth anniversary which falls on Friday, the group's agency Dreamcatcher Company said Wednesday.

Titled "Reason," the single is a special present from the members of Dreamcatcher to its dedicated fan club InSomnia.

"It is a song that carries a message that Dreamcatcher sends to the fans, who have stuck by for six years from debut title 'Chase Me' to the last release, 'Vision,'" the agency said in a press release.

"It is also a promise that the group will spend more time with the fans."

The band started its celebrations last week with a virtual reality (VR) concert content released on Meta Quest's Venta X performance platform. It is a VR compilation of six of the group's major performances since its debut.

The seven-member girl group debuted in 2017 with a dark-fantasy dystopia theme unique in K-pop, garnering a loyal fandom, especially outside of Korea.

The group has seven members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon. It has released songs like “Chase Me” (2017), “Full Moon” (2018), “Over the Sky” (2019), “Scream” (2020), “Odd Eye” (2021) and “Maison” (2022). Dreamcatcher scored its first No. 1 on a music show with “Maison” in April on MBC's "Show! Champion."
