NCT 127 wraps up 'Neo City - The Link' world tour in Mexico City

Boy band NCT 127 wrapped up its second world tour series "Neo City - The Link" on Saturday with a concert in Mexico City, having met 700,000 fans in 17 cities around the globe during the tour's 14-month run.

Starting out in December 2021 with a three-day performance at Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul, the nine-member band traveled to Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the United States.

The band's concerts in Japan were all held at dome stadiums — Tokyo Dome, Kyocera Dome Osaka and Vantelin Dome in Nagoya — which are considered big milestone venues for artists in Japan and Korea because they need a loyal fandom large enough to fill the seats.

The band received warm receptions, especially from South American fans, where it held three-day concerts in Brazil, becoming the first K-pop act to host a concert with over 10,000 concertgoers in Colombia. The city metro even extended its last train hours in Chile to accommodate the audience after the concerts finished, according to the band's agency SM Entertainment.

"We consider our fans as the last puzzle piece — we cannot complete the performances without our fans," the band said in a press release, thanking them for a successful tour.

NCT 127 will release its repackaged fourth full-length album "Ay-Yo" Monday at 6 p.m. The music video for the title track will also be released on YouTube at the same time.
