Wood fossil
People take a look at the biggest wood fossil ever found in Korea, referred to as Pohang Geumgwang's fossilized tree from the Cenozoic Era, at the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage in Daejeon on Tuesday. The fossil was discovered in 2009 and was designated a natural monument this year on Jan. 27. The wood fossil, 10.2 meters (33 feet) long and 0.9 to 1.3 meters wide, will be displayed to the public through Feb. 28. [YONHAP]
