Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S23 series available globally

Samsung Electronics' latest Galaxy S23 series is now available in the global market, as of Friday.

Starting with 55 countries, including Korea, the United States, France, Australia and the United Kingdom, the Galaxy S23 series will be available in 130 nations total, according to the smartphone maker.

The Galaxy S23 series was first introduced during the Galaxy Unpacked event held in San Francisco on Feb. 1.

Hit by the higher raw material prices, the Galaxy S23 series retails for about 150,000 won ($115) more than the previous S22 models, a jump of roughly 15 percent.

The standard Galaxy S23 will go for 1.15 million won for the lowest storage option, and the bigger Galaxy S23 Plus for 1.35 million won. The high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra, which comes equipped with a stylus and advanced cameras, will be priced at 1.59 million won.

The Galaxy S23 series garnered a record number of preorders, 1.09 million units, which surpassed the previous record of 1.02 million units of the Galaxy S22 series in 2022.
