Seven BabyMonster members may not all make the final cut: YG

The seven members that have been unveiled up until now may not make the final cut for the new girl group BabyMonster, YG Entertainment said Monday.

The seven “preliminary” members — Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Haram, Rora and Chiquita — will be re-evaluated through a series of missions, according to the teaser video "BabyMonster - 'Last Evaluation'" released on Monday.

“Now the finest members will be selected after a final evaluation,” founder and executive producer Yang Hyun-suk revealed in the teaser video.

In the teaser video released, Jennie from girl group Blackpink and Lee Su-hyun from the duo AKMU were seen assessing the candidates’ performances as a part of the evaluation.

Neither the release date for the full evaluation video nor the group's debut date have been announced yet.

BabyMonster will be YG's first new girl group since Blackpink, which debuted in 2016.
