JYP Entertainment donated 500 million won ($363,500) to the Yonsei University Health System (YUHS) to be used for the treatment of underprivileged children and teenagers, the K-pop agency said Friday.

The donation was made Thursday in a ceremony attended by executives from JYP Entertainment and YUHS, as well as from the Sinchon, Gangnam and Yongin branches of Severance Hospital, which are subsidiaries under YUHS.

The money will be used to treat underprivileged patients under the age of 25 who are undergoing care at the Severance Hospitals, according to JYP Entertainment.

“We hope this donation could help, even in the slightest, for underprivileged young patients,” Byun Sang-bong, JYP Entertainment’s vice president and chief financial officer, said. “We hope the children will be able to recover and have a chance to achieve their dreams.”

The donation was made through JYP Entertainment’s corporate social responsibility project that is operated under the catchphrase, “Every Dream Matters!” (EDM).

A total of 2.8 billion won has been donated this year through the EDM project to hospitals and health organizations as medical expenses for underprivileged young patients, according to JYP Entertainment.
