SK Telecom will develop a patrol robot with Neubility and SK shieldus, the telecom company said Thursday.

Patrol robots will monitor designated areas and call security if any abnormal activity is detected, explained SK Telecom.

SK Telecom’s visual recognition and transmission system will be incorporated into Neubility’s Neubie, an autonomous driving robot. SK shieldus will provide a security system and its business network to monetize the technology.

The three companies signed a memorandum of understanding at SK shieldus office in western Seoul, Tuesday.

The companies have been running test operations of the patrol robot service at Duksung Women’s University campus in northern Seoul since February, as they are eyeing school facilities, factories and public institutes as possible clients.

The patrol service will be available in the market this year, according to SK Telecom.
