Weverse, a K-pop fan community platform developed by HYBE, unveiled Weverse DM, a private messaging service for K-pop fans and artists on Monday.
“Weverse DM is a chatting service where fans and artists can privately chat with each other,” Weverse Company, a subsidiary of HYBE announced in a press release on Monday.
The new subscription is in line with Phoning, a private messaging and fan community service launched by Weverse Company last year, dedicated to ADOR’s girl group NewJeans and Dear U bubble, a private messaging service operated by a subsidiary of SM Entertainment. Dear U bubble was first launched in February of 2022 and features 1.35 million active monthly users as of 2022.
Weverse's new service will “feature artists sending photos, videos and emojis, so fans can have a build a more intimate relationship with the artists.” Artists participating in Weverse DM will be revealed starting Tuesday and the release date for the service will also be announced in the near future, according to Weverse Company.
Weverse DM will be available within the Weverse application and fans will be able to purchase subscriptions with “Jelly,” Weverse’s in-app currency.
SM Entertainment have also announced that artists from its agency will be joining Weverse by September.
