Cars park and charge themselves, while robots deliver coffee and packages to your desk.
This is what Hyundai Motor Group and IGIS Asset Management hope an office will look like in the near future — at least by 2024.
The two companies signed an agreement Tuesday on cooperating to apply various robotics technologies to core buildings in Seoul.
Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor and its related companies will offer its various robots including delivery, charging, parking and guidance robots to buildings owned by IGIS across Seoul.
Hyundai Glovis will offer its unmanned delivery system while Hyundai Wia will offer hardware technologies and parking solutions. Hyundai Engineering and Construction will be in charge of the architecture and construction of the building.
The first building to have the robotics system will be IGIS's Seongsu Factorial building in eastern Seoul, which will be completed in the first half of 2024.
"It's the first step for Hyundai and Kia to realize the robotics visions we have had for a long time," said Kim Yong-wha, vice president overseeing R&D at Hyundai Motor and Kia. "With the cooperation between Hyundai and Kia and IGIS, we will increase the value of various types of locations such as offices and shopping malls."
