Arrest warrant filed for Yoo on drug charges

An arrest warrant has been filed for actor Yoo Ah-in who is being investigated for illegal drug use charges.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Investigation Unit filed an arrest warrant against Yoo on Friday afternoon, citing concerns that Yoo might destroy evidence or flee the country. The arrest warrant comes three days after he was called in for questioning for the second time for 21 hours.

Yoo, whose real name is Uhm Hong-sik, has been investigated over the illegal use of five different drugs including propofol, cannabis, cocaine, ketamine and zolpidem.

Yoo is denying most of the accusations at this time.

The court is likely to decide on the warrant early next week.
