Actor Yoo Ah-in summoned for questioning on illegal drug use

Actor Yoo Ah-in was summoned for questioning by the police on Monday morning on the allegation of illegal drug use.

Yoo entered the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency at 9:20 a.m. without answering any questions from local media, 50 days after police conducted a urine drug test of the actor on Feb. 5.

Police originally booked Yoo for an investigation last Friday, but postponed the booking after Yoo asked to reschedule as the dates were released to the general public by local media.

On Feb. 5, the police enforced a search and seizure warrant on the actor at Incheon International Airport and conducted a urine test. He tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, the main constituent of marijuana, and more detailed drug screening results given to the police in March showed that the actor tested positive for both propofol and marijuana.

Police also raided two residences related to the actor earlier this month.

Local media reported that the police are confident in Yoo’s investigation as they have gathered many pieces of evidence of Yoo’s criminal activities.
