An injured person laying on the floor of the Sunae subway station in Bundang, Gyeonggi, on Thursday. Some 14 people were injured after an escalator malfunctioned. [GYEONGGI DISASTER AND SAFETY HEADQUARTERS]

Some 14 people were reportedly injured in an escalator accident at Sunae Station on the Bundang Line in Gyeonggi.
 
According to safety authorities, at 8:20 a.m., an escalator heading upward toward exit No. 2 unexpectedly started moving downward, throwing people off the escalator.
 
 
Three people were reported to have been seriously injured.
