Korea's first Five Guys burger joint will open on June 26 in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.

The flagship branch, situated in the posh area between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, spans two floors covering a substantial area of 618 square meters (6,650 square feet) to seat around 150 customers.

FG Korea, a subsidiary of Hanwha Galleria that will manage the Five Guys brand in Korea, announced Monday that operations will begin at 11 a.m. on June 26. The company began holding on-site recruitment events on Monday to assemble a dedicated team for the new venture.

FG Korea has emphasized its commitment to preserving the originality associated with American recipes and services.

"Notably, we put a lot of effort in establishing a reliable domestic potato supply chain to ensure a taste reminiscent of the popular Russet potatoes found in the United States," the company said.

In line with the practices of its American counterparts, Five Guys Korea will provide complimentary peanuts as a special treat for customers.

Five Guys plans to open over 15 stores across the country over the next five years.

Leading the recruitment and preparation efforts for this flagship store is Kim Dong-seon, head of strategic management at Hanwha Galleria and the youngest son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn.
