Manchester City and Atletico Madrid will face off in Seoul on Sunday, July 30, streaming service Coupang Play and the K League announced Tuesday.
City and Atletico are set to clash in the second game of the second edition of the Coupang Play Series, an annual exhibition game series launched last year.
The British treble winners will face Atletico, who finished third in La Liga this year, at 8 p.m. on July 30 at Seoul World Cup Stadium in Mapo District, western Seoul.
Atletico will also be in action in the first game of the series on Thursday, July 28, when they take on Team K League, an all-star team of players drawn from the domestic K League 1. That match will also be played at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the Atletico vs. K League game will go on sale at 1 p.m. on June 27, with tickets for the Man City game on sale at the same time the following day.
Last year, Coupang Play brought Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla to Korea for the inaugural Coupang Play Series, with Spurs facing Team K League at Seoul World Cup Stadium before the two teams played each other in Suwon, Gyeonggi.
For that game, the Team K League squad included two players from each of the 12 teams in the K League 1. The league is yet to announce whether it will follow a similar schedule this year or try something different, but it did say that the squad will be selected in July and will include fan voting and manager picks.
The Coupang Play Series dates leave Korean football fans with a very hectic schedule at the end of July, as the series falls right in the middle of the Korea Tour 2023, a new exhibition series introduced this year by Stadium X and Untouchable Sport Group featuring Wolverhampton Wanderers, Celtic, Roma and K League 1 side Incheon United.
On the Korea Tour, Wolves and Celtic are set to face off at Suwon World Cup Stadium in Suwon on July 26, just a day before attention will be on Seoul for the Atletico vs. K League clash.
Fans get a single day to catch their breath before the Korea Tour is in action again on July 29 as Wolves take on Roma at Incheon Asiad Stadium in Incheon. Just a day later, Man City will take center stage over in Seoul as they take on Atletico in the final game of the Coupang Play Series.
Monday is football free, but the Korea Tour will return for one last hurrah on Aug. 1 as Roma take on Incheon United, also at Incheon Asiad Stadium.
That game caps off the week of international action, with five games in seven days across Seoul, Incheon and Suwon.
