Korean national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has reiterated that he is still confident that he can overcome his difficult start with the Taeguk Warriors and lead the team to success.

한국 축구 국가대표팀 감독 위르겐 클린스만이 초반 어려움을 극복하고 태극 전사들을 성공으로 이끄는데 자신 있다고 강조했다.

Klinsmann opened up about his takeaways from his first four matches and his vision for the team during a press conference at the Korea Football Association House in Jongno District, central Seoul on Thursday.

클린스만 감독은 목요일 서울 종로구 대한축구협회 축구회관에서 지난 네 경기에서 배운 점과 그가 팀을 위해 갖고 있는 목표에 대해 밝혔다.

“There is a lot of positives from all four games,” he said. “We should have won all four games. All four games, we were a better team. We had more chances than the opponents. “The lesson is really that we have to become more clinical.”

클린스만 감독은 “네 번의 모든 경기에서 긍정적인 부분들이 있었다,” 라며 “네 경기 모두 이겼어야 했고 우리가 더 나은 팀이었다. 상대 팀보다 더 많은 기회들이 있었다. 배운 것이 있다면 좀 더 결정력이 있어야 한다는 것이다”라고 말했다.

His first two games in March ended with a 2-2 draw with Colombia and 2-1 loss against Uruguay, followed by a 1-0 loss against Peru and 1-1 draw with El Salvador this month.

그의 3월 첫 두 경기는 콜롬비아와 2-2 무승부, 우루과이에 2-1 패배로 끝났으며, 뒤이어 이번 달에는 페루에 1-0 패배, 엘 살바도르와 1-1 무승부로 끝났다.

Those stats make him the only foreign manager in national team history to have not managed a win in their first four games. His predecessor Paulo Bento won his debut match against Costa Rica 2-0.

Korea’s next friendly is the team’s first away game under Klinsmann against Wales in September in Cardiff. That match is a chance for Klinsmann to redeem himself ahead of the AFC Asian Cup in January next year.
