Ryan Gosling canceled a scheduled trip to promote his film "Barbie," citing "inevitable circumstances."

However, his co-star Margot Robbie arrived in Korea on Saturday.

The two lead actors planned to visit Korea as part of a "Barbie" promotion tour along with director Greta Gerwig and actor America Ferrera to talk with local fans and press.

Warner Bros. Korea, the local distributor of the U.S. film, did not elaborate further on the actor's cancelation.

"Ryan Gosling is hoping to meet with you through another opportunity," the distributor said in a press release.

Other events will take place as scheduled, according to Warner Bros. Korea. A pop-up store opened on Saturday in Hannam-dong, central Seoul, and will run through July 31.

"Barbie" is a live-action film based on Mattel's popular fashion doll franchise Barbie. It will depict the story of Barbie — played by Robbie — and Ken, played by Gosling, going on an adventure from Barbie Land to the real world.

The film is set for domestic release in July, though an exact date has yet to be decided.
