Singer-songwriter Young K from boy band DAY6 will drop his first solo full-length album “Letter with notes” on Sept. 4, his agency JYP Entertainment said Monday.

“Letter with notes” will be Young K’s latest solo release following his debut album “Eternal” from almost two years ago, and also his first album since he completed his mandatory military service back in April.

“'Letters with notes’ will prove yet again Young K’s ability as an artist, who proved himself over and over again as a member of [DAY6], as a member of the group’s subunit [Even of Day] and as a solo artist,” JYP Entertainment said.

Young K released multiple demo tracks starting with “Text Me Now” in 2020. He started solo endeavors with his first EP “Eternal” in 2021. All seven tracks on the EP, including lead track “Guard You,” were written, composed and produced by Young K himself.

“Rose Blossom,” girl group H1-KEY’s 2023 hit track praised for its well-written lyrics, was written by Young K.

DAY6 debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2015 as the agency’s first rock band. The band currently consists of four members — guitarist and vocalist Sungjin, bassist, guitarist and vocalist Young K, keyboardist and vocalist Wonpil and drummer and vocalist Dowoon.
