Korea logged $5.87 billion in current account surplus in June, the second straight month the balance has stayed positive.

The June figure was a dramatic jump from $1.93 billion tallied in May and was the largest surplus since the same month last year ($6.06 billion), the Bank of Korea’s preliminary data showed Tuesday.

The surplus in June was helped by the goods account, which recorded a $3.98 billion surplus, and primary income logged a $4.85 billion surplus. But the services account posted a $2.61 billion deficit largely due to the travel account.
