EXO's D.O. is returning as a solo singer for the first time in two years with a new album on Sept. 18, his agency SM Entertainment said Friday.

D.O.'s new EP, titled "Expectation," will drop on Sept. 18, two years and two months after his first solo album "Empathy" was released in July 2021. The album topped the iTunes Top Albums charts in 59 regions, including the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

D.O. has been one of the most active members of EXO, taking part in the boy band's latest full-length album, "Exist," released in July. But he has been more active as an actor.

He starred in the latest sci-fi film, "The Moon," where he played the role of an astronaut stranded on the Moon trying to keep himself alive while help comes from Earth.

He has been best known for his roles in the television series "It's Okay, That's Love" (2014) and "100 Days My Prince" (2018), and films "My Annoying Brother" (2016) and the two-part fantasy film "Along with the Gods" (2017–2018).
