The 3,182-square-meter (34,250-square-feet) underground space between City Hall Station and Euljiro 1-ga Station along subway line No. 2 will be opened to the public for the first time in 40 years from Sept. 8 through 23, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said Tuesday. The city government will hear ideas from citizens on how to make use of the space located 13 meters under Seoul Plaza in central Seoul. The city government assumes the space, which is located above the tracks of subway line No.2, was created to connect the two stations at different heights. Photo shows the underground space unveiled to the local press on Tuesday ahead of its opening to the public. [SEOUL METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT]
