Preorders for iPhone 15 begin on October 6
Preorders for the iPhone 15 and regular orders for the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will begin on Oct. 6
The release comes a month after the San Francisco-based company showcased the iPhone 15 models on Sept. 12.
The announcement met local media expectations that the latest models would land in Korea in early October after the six-day Chuseok holiday which runs from Thursday to Tuesday.
The iPhone 15 models are already in stores in Apple's first release group: the United States, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Mexico, the UAE and major European countries. They have been available since Sept. 22.
The second round of releases will be made in Macao, Malaysia, Turkey, Vietnam and 17 other countries beginning Sept. 29.
Korea was categorized in the third release group.
Korea has been typically granted third or later slots with the exception of the iPhone 5, 12 and X lines that had the country in the second tier.
The iPhone 15 series will be sold in Korea at the same price as the iPhone 14 models.
The iPhone 15 will cost 1.25 million won ($925) for the 128 gigabyte storage option. The iPhone 15 Plus will start at 1.35 million won, 15 Pro at 1.55 million won and 15 Pro Max at 1.9 million won.
