Joseon Royal Tombs Festival kicks off

This year's Joseon Royal Tombs Festival kicked off on Saturday with an opening performance the night before on Friday in Seooreung in Goyang, Gyeonggi. The festival will run through Oct. 22 at nine of the 40 royal tomb sites of the Joseon Dynasty that are scattered over 18 locations in Seoul and its outskirting cities. In 2009, the 40 royal tombs of Joseon were granted Unesco World Heritage status. For more information about the festival, visit jrtf.or.kr. [KOREA CULTURAL HERITAGE FOUNDATION]
