A Korean national who was kidnapped in the Philippines was safely rescued recently.

According to the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, the Korean national — who ran a business in the Philippines — was kidnapped around Sept. 27.

The ministry withheld further identification information about the national and the reasons for the kidnapping from the press.

The Korean national was in good health, and local authorities were investigating a suspect apprehended on Monday in the Philippines, said the ministry in its statement.
