Pricey persimmons
The retail price of sweet persimmons in Korea increased by 32.2 percent on year on Monday to 14,736 won ($10.92) for a pack of 10, data from the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (aT) showed. The rise in persimmon prices is linked to unfavorable weather conditions during this year's summer, including scorching heat and heavy rainfall, which led to subpar fruit growth and reduced supply.
