Naver taps Woowa Brothers' Kim Bom-jun as new COO

Naver has appointed Kim Bom-jun, former CEO of Woowa Brothers, as its new chief operating officer.
 
“Under the Global 3.0 motto, Naver was in need of talents that could efficiently operate and manage new business fields of Naver as it is making new attempts in various fields like AI, contents, B2B and C2C,” the tech giant said in a release Thursday. 
 
“In that sense, we decided to recruit Kim Bom-jun to Team Naver, who holds various experiences and achievements in technology, service and management.” 
 
Kim, a KAIST graduate, has worked for various IT companies like TmaxSoft, NCSoft and SK Planet before joining Woowa Brothers, an operator of food delivery service Baedal Minjok in 2015 as its chief technology officer. 
 
Kim has been acting as an adviser to Woowa Brothers, having served as its CEO between 2020 and 2022.
 
“Naver expects to create synergy by securing different experiences and business perspective through Kim,” the company said. 
 
Kim's term at Naver will begin in January.
