The vehicle owner in his 50s who crashed into 15 parked vehicles at a basement parking lot in an apartment complex in Daegu last month has resurfaced five days after disappearing.

According to the Daegu Bukbu police station on Monday the unidentified individual showed up for questioning at the police station at 10:30 a.m.

The driver had told the police the accident occurred because he was driving while still being sick from a cold. He also claimed that he was working late.

The police said the driver tested negative on a drug test. However, they will continue to investigate on whether he drove under the influence of alcohol.

The collision took place at 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 29 resulting in extensive damages including bent front sections and broken front bumpers on several vehicles in the apartment complex’s basement parking lot.

Despite the severity of the incident, the police were able to establish contact with the driver two days later.
