Rebranded startup Wrtn aims to become 'mega AI platform'

Korean AI startup Wrtn detailed its ambition to become a "mega AI platform" next year as it rebranded itself with a new logo and slogan.

Its slogan has changed to "Your first AI agent."

"Rather than developing large-language models (LLMs), Wrtn has worked on core technology that [help users] to better utilize AI technology," said Wrtn CEO and founder Lee Se-young to the press on Tuesday.

"LLMs in the future are expected to become commodities with the cost of using it spiraling down."

Wrtn vies to become a one-stop platform by curating diverse LLM models and AI apps and offering services for free.

The platform, utilizing its own system called KLAUD, will pick and choose the right LLM for the users from a choice of OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 and Naver's Clova X among others, based on the request submitted by the user. To do this, Wrtn said KLAUD had analyzed some 18,000 conversations between AIs and users.

The platform also plans to offer an array of AI apps including the much-hyped AI profile app. It is working on expanding the number of AI apps to more than 20 in the coming months.

Wrtn's ambition will expand to overseas markets next year in Japan, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

It established its first overseas entity last month in Japan.

Wrtn, which started service in Korea in 2021, has 1.4 million monthly active users which the company plans to boost to 5 million by the first half of next year.
