Alleged Lee Sun-kyun blackmailer apprehended after escape before court hearing

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency [INCHEON METROPOLITAN POLICE AGENCY]

A woman, accused of threatening and swindling around 50 million won ($38,725) from actor Lee Sun-kyun, fled before arrest warrant hearing at an Incheon court, the police said on Wednesday.

She was caught Wednesday after a day-long escape, according to the Incheon police.

She did not appear for the hearing at the Incheon District Court on Tuesday without giving a reason.

The police traced her whereabouts after she did not show up at the court.

They did not disclose where she was apprehended.

She's currently held at the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Precinct.

The court will proceed with her hearing later on Thursday.

A preliminary arrest warrant had already been issued for her.

Such a warrant is issued for those with a flight risk before a formal arrest warrant is issued.
