Minor tsunami waves arrive at Korea's East Sea coast

The Korean meteorology agency reported that a tsunami with waves up to 45 centimeters high hit Korea's East Sea coast on Monday following a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Japan.
 
The Korean weather agency reported that a wave that reached 45 centimeters high was detected at 6:06 p.m. at the port of Mukho in Donghae, Gangwon.

A 30-centimeter and a 24-centimeter wave were also detected in Sokcho and Imwon.
 
However, the agency cautioned that the waves could rise higher as the impact from the earthquake could continue for more than 24 hours.
