K-pop boy band Riize to open pop-up stores in Seoul, Tokyo

Riize will open its first pop-up stores “Riize Up” in Seoul and Japan, the boy band's agency SM Entertainment said Monday.

The Seoul pop-up store will open on Friday and run for a week at the Hyundai Department Store’s U-Plex in Sinchon-dong of Seodaemun District, western Seoul.

The Japanese pop-up store will open on Jan. 24 and run until Jan. 30, at Miyashita Park in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The pop-up store is a special event for fans, following the band's recent single “Love 119” that released on Jan. 5.

The area will feature graphics with street culture vibes, showcasing Riize’s unique identity, the agency said in a press release.

It will also have a special photo zone with various images on display, along with events for fans to participate in, the agency added.

Merchandise will be sold on site, and the band’s logo sticker will be given to visitors.

Only those with reservations can visit the pop-up stores, which can be done online in advance or on the spot.

Riize debuted on Sept. 4 last year with its first single “Get A Guitar,” under SM Entertainment. The band consists of members Shotaro, Sungchan, Eunseo, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee and Anton.

Seunghan decided to “indefinitely” halt all group activities on Nov. 22, 2023, due to controversial pictures and videos from his past that went viral online, posted before RIIZE's official debut.

The band recently released the single “Love 119,” topping local music charts including Melon and Bugs. The song also topped the iTunes Top Song chart in nine countries after its release.
