Prosecutors seek death sentence for Sillim-dong stabber

The prosecutor’s office, on Wednesday, requested the court to sentence Jo Seon, to death for fatally stabbing a stranger near Sillim-dong, Seoul, last summer.
 
On July 21, the 34-year-old went on a stabbing rampage near Sillim Station, resulting in killing a man in his 20s and injuring three others.

Jo told the police that he committed the crime out of anger and wished to inflict the same misery upon others as he was feeling. 
 
Throughout his life, Jo struggled to secure a stable job and worked in temporary roles such as a delivery driver and a construction worker.
Despite having both parents alive, he has not been in touch with them.
