Universal Pictures, the film's distributor, released a photograph of Vaughn's handwritten letter on Tuesday he wrote to his Korean fans.

"I'm extremely disappointed as I have suddenly become sick and been told not to travel," Vaughn said in the letter.

"I have been looking forward to meeting the fans that have been so supportive over the years and to get to visit a country that is a huge inspiration to me," he added.

The other actors will still be visiting Korea.

The director also rooted for the Korean team, which is currently playing in the Asian Cup, in the letter.

"I am grateful for your understanding and thank you for all your support. Never forget, 'Manner, Maketh, Man!'" he said, using the lines from his famous film "Kingsman: The Secret Service" (2015).

"Argylle" centers around the journey of spy novelist Elly Conway, played by Howard, whose novel begins to mirror a secretive real-life spy organization, making her a target of other spies. The novelist writes down the next chapter of her novel to escape from danger and goes on a journey to meet a real-life version of agent Argylle.
