Films starring Academy Award-winning Korean actor Youn Yuh-jung will be screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (AMMP) in California from May 17 to May 25, according to the Korea Foundation on Wednesday.

Starting with “Minari” (2020), the screening list includes eight films from various stages in the actor's career, such as “Woman of Fire” (1971), “A Good Lawyer's Wife” (2003), “The Bacchus Lady” (2016) and “Canola” (2016).

The exhibition will celebrate "the remarkable array of work she has crafted over the fifty-plus years of her career" and “highlight the diverse range of works that contribute to Youn’s timeless cinematic legacy," according to the AMMP's website.

Youn is set to visit the museum on May 17 and 18, when films “Minari” and “Woman of Fire” will be screening, to host a talk session with the audience. The event will provide local audiences with further insight into Korean films and Youn's artistic views.

The AAMP is the largest film museum in the United States, built in 2021 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It shows a curated selection of films and commemorates excellence in the industry.

Youn's screenings are part of the museum’s Korean film series that exhibits the various sides of Korean cinema. The series was planned in part due to a grant from the Korea Foundation, which was founded in 1991 to support Korean diplomacy and friendship throughout the international community.
