CJ Group Vice Chairwoman Lee Mie-kyung won the 2024 Abu Dhabi Festival Award for a lifetime dedication to art and culture, the company's media and entertainment arm said Monday.
Lee, also known as Miky Lee, became the first Korean to receive the annual award presented by the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation on Saturday.
Established in 2012, the award honors individuals committed to fostering cultural diplomacy and dialogue.
Lee was recognized for her significant contributions to the growth of Korea's film and entertainment industry, CJ ENM said.
Lee oversees the overall strategic direction and management of Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM, the company responsible for globally acclaimed Korean films and TV series, including the Oscar-winning "Parasite" and "Decision to Leave."
The arts foundation also recognized Lee's commitment to promoting K-pop by "creating and expanding KCON, the world's largest K-culture festival that celebrates Korean culture and music worldwide."
