Pulmuone, a Korean fresh food company, secured a position among the top five global food companies in the S&P Global's 2023 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).

This ranking places the company in the highest spot on the list among domestic food companies, Pulmuone said Wednesday.

The S&P CSA is an indicator used to assess corporate sustainability and investment performance, considering various financial and non-financial factors such as environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Pulmuone's CSA evaluation score highlighted its strengths in governance and economic dimensions, along with commendable scores in materiality, risk and crisis management, and supply chain management.

In the "Health and Nutrition" criteria, Pulmuone was recognized for its efforts to consider consumer health and nutrition in product development and marketing.

"We were praised for adhering to the principles of creating products based on a diet that considers the consumer's nutritional balance, ... as well as managing and transparently disclosing raw materials and additives through Clean Label,” the company said in reference to an ingredient-listing initiative.

According to the S&P Annual Report, a total of 9,400 companies from 62 industries worldwide participated in the CSA evaluation, with 260 companies from the food industry.
